Updated October 2026 · Prices in baht with US dollars at about ฿33.5 = $1

Bangkok has two airports and several ways into the city. If you are travelling light and arriving in the daytime, the train is the cheapest and often the fastest. Late at night, with heavy bags or in a group, a taxi or pre-booked transfer makes more sense.

Taxi tip Use the official public taxi queue and insist on the meter. The ฿50 airport surcharge and the tolls are normal; a fixed "special price" without the meter is not.

From Don Mueang (DMK)

Public buses and airport shuttles run to central Bangkok for about ฿30. The A1 bus goes to Mo Chit BTS station, where you can continue on the Skytrain. The SRT Red Line also stops at Don Mueang and connects to Krung Thep Aphiwat (Bang Sue) station for the MRT and long-distance trains.

Pre-book a transfer

Worth it if you land after midnight, travel with kids or more than two people, or just want someone waiting with a sign after a long flight. Split between three or four people, a private car often costs about the same as separate taxis.
