LASIK in the US averaged about $2,246 per eye in 2026 according to All About Vision, roughly $4,500 for both eyes. In Bangkok, FemtoLASIK costs about $3,015 at a major hospital and from about $2,060 at a specialist clinic.

How many days to plan

  • Before the trip: stop wearing contact lenses for the period the clinic tells you, as this affects the screening.
  • Screening day: a long appointment to check whether you are suitable and which procedure fits.
  • Surgery day: usually same-day; someone should accompany you back to your hotel.
  • Follow-up: at least one check before you fly.

Most people see clearly within one to two days after FemtoLASIK or SMILE, while PRK recovery takes longer. Do not book a non-refundable flight for the morning after surgery; confirm the schedule with the clinic first.

After surgery Plan quiet days: no swimming pools or the sea, no dusty tuk-tuk rides, and sunglasses outdoors, following your surgeon's instructions. Save the beaches for after you get the all-clear.
